Juveniles caught in act in burglary of Saks schools



Anniston Police apprehended five juvenile burglars in the act after they broke into Saks Elementary and Saks High School over the weekend.  Police say the burglaries at the two schools occurred between 2 and 3:30 Saturday morning.  A neighbor,  who lives near Saks Elementary School heard barking dogs and went to check outside.   The neighbor saw the juveniles walking around the outside of the school and believed there had been a break-in. The neighbor then called police.  The burglars damaged ceiling tiles in the elementary school, and attempted to steal fire extinguishers at the high school, but there were no reports of vandalism or theft.  When police arrived at the high school, they saw some of the juveniles exiting a side entrance. They then caught them after a foot pursuit.  The five juveniles ranging in age from 13 to 16 and have been charged with two counts of third degree burglary and fleeing an officer.
