Gadsden police are investigating a rise in church burglaries in the city.  Police say that over the past two weeks the number of church burglaries has increased.  12 churches have been broken into within the past month in the city. In the past two weeks, there have been 12 commercial burglaries, 25 residential burglaries and 20 car burglaries.  Police say that In many of the church burglaries, nothing has been taken. Despite the rise in church burglaries, there have been 16 fewer commercial burglaries than at this time last year. There have, however, been 48 more burglaries of residences and 62 more auto burglaries compared to this point in 2012.
