Guntersville sentenced in murder

A 36 year old  Guntersville man was sentenced Monday in Marshall County Circuit Court to 99 years in prison for the murder of a businessman.  Wesley Claude Burgess, was convicted of murder in September in the 2009 stabbing death of Ricky Moody inside his Claysville business, Motors and Cash.  Moody, who was from Sheffield, was found dead of multiple stab wounds on Oct. 23. Burgess was arrested more than a year after the crime and charged with murder.  Sheriff Scott Walls said at the time of Burgess' arrest in November 2010 that Burgess confessed to the crime.
