Race Fan dies in Talladega Superspeedway campground

  1. Talladega county authorities are investigating the weekend death of a race fan at the Talladega superspeedway.  Authorities say that 46-year-old Craig Franklin Morgan of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and his wife, 38 year old Jami, were discovered by friends who entered their RV at the South Campground near the Talladega Superspeedway Saturday.    Jami Morgan, was unconscious but still alive.  She was taken to UAB Hospital where  she remains in critical condition. Talladega County Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore said  the couple came to the event with friends.  The last time they spoke was Friday night before heading to bed.  Deputy Coroner Larry Seals said a gas stove was lit most likely for heat and there was a problem with the exhaust system to the generator leading to what authorities believe was carbon monoxide poisoning.
