Atttalla man arrested after sealing gun to pay court fines



Etowah county sheriffs deputies have arrested an Attalla man on gun theft charges.  27 year old Jame Adam Meeks, of Attalla, is charged with one felony count of second degree theft of property and is held on a $5,000 bond.   Meeks is accused of stealing a Savage 308 rifle from a residence on Maple Drive, Attalla.  During the investigation, investigators discovered the weapon had been sold at a Gadsden pawn shop.  Meeks admitted to investigators he stole the weapon and pawned it to pay court fines in St. Clair County.  He is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center.
