Ragland man dies in Wednesday night crash

The St. Clair County Coroner has confirmed one person died on Wednesday night after being involved in a two-vehicle head-on collision.  Coroner Dennis Russell says 32-year-old Johnny Matthew Link of Ragland was identified as the deceased man. State troopers say he was traveling in a 2006 Chevy Colorado on Highway 231 near mile marker 233 around 6:30 p.m. when his vehicle collided with a 2004 Ford F-150. Link's wife and daughter were transported to the hospital. State troopers have said their condition is listed as 'critical.'  Lawrence Rainey, who witnessed the wreck, says Link's SUV went down an embankment after the crash. Rainey says the SUV was crushed together and he is surprised anyone made it out alive. The other driver in the collision, 27-year-old Casey Cromer, was taken to UAB Hospital by ambulance and is listed in fair condition.
