Gadsden police arrest man after pot found in teddy bear

Gadsden police arrested a man after finding softball-sized amounts of marijuana in his vehicle, including one bag stuffed inside a teddy bear. A citizen flagged down a Gadsden police officer Tuesday morning to report a man selling drugs from his car in the Jack's parking lot on George Wallace Drive. Two officers approached and saw the suspect sitting in the driver's seat, and noticed an "overwhelming odor of marijuana" coming from the car.  In plain view, the officers could see a softball size bag of what they believed to be marijuana hanging out of his pants pocket. They also found another softball size bag stuffed inside a teddy bear..

The suspect was arrested for second degree unlawful possession of marijuana and transported to the Etowah County Sheriff's Office. His name has not yet been released.

Police say the case is still under investigation.
