Goodyear approves USW Contracts

All six Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plants, including the Gadsden plant, have approved local contracts dealing with issues such as seniority, according to Gadsdens United Steelworkers Local 12 President David Hayes.  Hayes said Gadsden approved its local contract in voting Oct. 29 through Oct. 31, with 86 percent of the membership voting for the contract. The Danville, Va., plant was the last to approve its agreement earlier this week.  USW members in August approved a new, four-year, national contract with the company. A tentative agreement was reached before the previous contract ended July 27.
