Anniston fire victim dies

Authorities say an Anniston woman injured in a house fire Friday in Anniston died Sunday morning.  According to Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown 77 year old Bobbie West,  was pronounced dead at 7:02 a.m. Sunday morning at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.  Brown said his report was not final as of Monday morning, but he said he believes West died from smoke inhalation and burns.  Anniston firefighters responded to the fire at West’s home on the corner of Walnut Avenue and 18th street Friday afternoon.  Firefighters found West in a bedroom, where they believe the fire started.  Officials say they believe the fire was accidental, but said that the investigation, with assistance from the state Fire Marshal's Office, has not been completed.
