Gadsden woman assaulted and robbed

Gadsden police are investigating the reported robbery of 45-year-old woman who reported she was robbed by a man in the Braid Avenue area Tuesday morning after she apparently was lured there by a woman asking for a ride.  The victim said she was at a convenience store on West Meighan Boulevard when a woman asked for a ride home. After she drove where the woman directed, the woman said she wanted her to meet her boyfriend.  A man approached the car and yanked the driver out by the hair, demanding money. She said he hit her in the head with a gun several times, yelling and threatening her, and stuck his hand down her shirt.  When the assault ended, she drove to a parking lot and called her family, then police. She was taken to a local hospital and treated for several bloody cuts to her scalp, swelling on her head and scraped knees and legs.
