Attalla police have obtained  warrants against two Birmingham men in connection with
a pharmacy burglary — one of at least four these suspects are believed to have committed
across the South.

On June 17, someone broke into Rick’s Pharmacy on Third Street South at 1:20 a.m.
by throwing a piece of rock through the front glass.

Police said They were only in the store for one minute and 20 seconds. They brought bags
with them, They took 6,467 pills — about $10,000 worth of prescription medication.
Most of the drugs were controlled narcotics.

A break in the investigation came when Attalla police learned that two Birmingham men
had been arrested in  Ky., for a similar crime.

In kentucky, the business alarm rang directly into the police department so officers
were able to get there quickly. They caught the suspect as they came running out the
front door” he said.

Another was stopped later and a third suspect got away, and apparently stole a car to
drive back home.
Attalla police sent the images they had to Kentucky and found the suspects there were
a match.
