Man shoots himself in downtown Gadsden bar

A Gadsden man is dead after shooting himself inside a Broad Street nightspot.

The 24-year-old man walked into Blackstone Pub & Eatery at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and said, “I am the whitest man alive,” according to the police report, then shot himself.

His gun misfired twice, then fired twice, striking him once in the head and once in the leg.

Medics were called and treated the man at the scene before taking him to Riverview Regional Medical Center.

Police investigating the scene located two rounds — one in a wall at the bar, and one in the victim’s boot.
