A Boaz man sentenced to life in prison for the murder of
his first cousin was denied parole after a hearing Tuesday.
Jonathan Eric Davis pleaded guilty in May 1999 to a murder
charge after Terry Lynn Lowery was shot to death at his home
in Aurora in January 1999.
Lowery’s four older sisters have vowed to fight Davis’
parole, and they did so when his most recent hearing was scheduled Oct. 7.
Cindy Peppers said they were grateful for the ruling and
appreciated the support of the people who wrote letters and signed petitions
indicating they, too, believe Davis should remain in prison. She and sister
Ginger Lowery said they were told Davis will not come up for parole again for
five years — the longest period the law allows before another hearing
