Two arrested in Georgia for Cherokee county murder

Cherokee County authorities arrested two men late Monday night in connection with a murder early Monday morning in the Farill community.  When deputies and Cedar Bluff police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at about 2:30 a.m. Monday they found Billy Ingram dead at the scene.   Sheriff Jeff  Shaver said The recently formed Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit responded and worked around the clock to identify suspects in Ingram’s death.   Evidence led the multi-agency unit’s investigators to Rossville, Ga., where they arrested 21 year old  Jeremiah Jackson,  and  36 year old Darrell Burgess, late Monday. Both are being held in the Walker County (Georgia) Detention Center, awaiting extradition to Cherokee County to face murder charges.
