Anniston Man regrets writing ani veteran Facebook post

Michael Schuette of Anniston says he regrets  writing “you are not heroes” and other harsh phrases in an anti-veteran Facebook post which went viral on Veterans Day. He says his family has been getting death threats and now he wants to apologize.
Michael Schuette  said Wednesday he regrets making the statements and says he’s been on the phone with irate veterans from across the country since shortly after it went viral. Schuette also says his family has been getting death threats and he’s pleading for people to keep the focus on him.
Schuette, the self-described part owner of Outlaw Gun Repair and Hydrographing in Anniston, confirmed he posted the anti-veteran message on his Facebook page on Veterans Day.
The post contained phrases like “you are not heroes”, “you got paid to learn how to fight and kill for profit”, “you fought for corporate interests”, and “you never sacrificed for this country.”
Schuette says he disagrees with “wars for profit” and with how veterans are treated when they come back home. He claims he wanted to discourage people from joining the military.
As the home of the Anniston Army Depot and Fort McClellan Anniston is a town with a strong military tradition. Schuette’s neighbors are up in arms about the post.
