Incumbents win re-election in Tuesdays voting

Incumbent state representatives Craig Ford and Becky Nordgren easily won re-election in Tuesday’s general election.  Ford, the Democratic House Minority Leader, defeated Republican Doug Sherrod in District 28.
Nordgren defeated Etowah County Coroner Michael Gladden, a Democrat, to win her second term in District 29.
Ford said he will push for a mega sports complex for the county in his next term.  Rep. K.L Brown was also relected to the district 40 house seat.
Sheriff Larry Amerson
  



Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson sailed to a sixth term as sheriff. 


   

Karen Roper
Karen Roper was re-elected as Calhoun county revenue commissioner.   








 In Etowah county,  District 1 county commissioner Joey Statum was re-elected while Republican Michael Head won the Etowah County Coroner's race over Democrat Brandon Martin.
Calhoun County Commissioner J.D. Hess easy won re-election defeating indepent candidate Jerry Burgess.  Lee Patterson was elected as the new district 5 member on the Calhoun county commission replacing Rudy Abbott who did not seek re election.
