The Gadsden City Titans dropped out of the Class 7A state
high school football rankings released late Tuesday night by the Alabama Sports
Writers Association. Gadsden City,
ranked No. 8 in the preseason poll, lost to unranked Auburn 45-38 Friday night.
With the loss, Gadsden City fell out of the top 10, while Auburn jumped from
the teams receiving votes to No. 9.
Etowah fell from No. 6 in the Class 5A preseason rankings to No. 10 this
week after Friday's 13-6 loss to 6A Northridge.
In Class 4a, Saks remains in the top ten at 6 and Cleburne
county in the number 9 slot.
In Class 3a Piedmont
is ranked at number 3.
