A three-month, multi-agency investigation resulted in an
arrest Tuesday morning when agents searched a Gadsden residence and discovered
57 grams of methamphetamine and a quantity of cash, Etowah County Drug
Enforcement Unit Commander Rob Savage said agents went to the residence Monday,
in the culmination of the investigation involving the DEU and the FBI Safe
Streets task force. 35 year old Jeffery
Morris Beam, was arrested for three
counts of trafficking in methamphetamine.
Beam is on federal probation and federal probation officers plan to file
a detainer to keep him in custody. In an
unrelated incident, a man was arrested for trafficking after a traffic stop at
Henry and Harvey streets in Gadsden. 47
year old James Michael Harris, was arrested for drug trafficking and
first-degree possession of marijuana after Gadsden police officers made a
traffic stop Friday and smelled marijuana in the vehicle.
Officers found three
ounces of methamphetamine and a significant quantity of marijuana in the
vehicle. They also found a .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun and Ecstasy, and
additional charges are likely.
