St. Clair cities ready for Tuesday vote on Sunday sales

Officials it St. Clair County say everything is in place for Tuesday’s referendum, which will determine if alcohol will be sold on Sundays in three St. Clair County cities.
Residents from Pell City, Riverside and Moody will determine if their individual municipalities will allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays.
Polls in all three cities will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Riverside residents may vote in the city’s storm shelter behind City Hall.
Last Tuesday, the Riverside City Council approved a contract with St. Clair to use the county voting machines for free.
Riverside officials say they should know within an hour after the polls are closed whether the city will allow businesses to sell alcohol on Sundays.
City officials and poll workers were trained Thursday at Moody City Hall for the upcoming referendum.
City workers will place signs at the locations where residents normally vote to channel them to the Pell City Civic Center, the only polling place open for Tuesday’s election.
Moody voters can cast their votes at Moody City Hall on Tuesday.
