Three Talladega men are facing capital murder charges in
connection with the shooting death of 30-year-old Sean Harrington, police
announced Thursday.
33 year old Joey Wesley Wheatt, 23 year old Khiry Demon McKinney, and 31 year old Marcus
Sharone Smoot, 31, are being held without bond in the Talladega County Jail on
charges they shot and killed a man on August 7. Wheatt also faces a charge of
distribution of a controlled substance.
According to the Talladega Police Department, there were
several factors that led to the arrests, including evidence recovered from the
scene, information share by witnesses and help from the Talladega County Drug
and Violent Crime Task Force.
