Dekalb murder suspect has first court appearance

Doug Minor

A DeKalb County man made his first appearance in court Thursday to face allegations that he murdered one woman and kidnapped another last weekend, according to Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
33 year old Doug Minor is charged with the murder of Bobbie Lynn Ross, who was found dead Saturday at his residence, and with the first-degree kidnapping and first-degree assault of Norma Jo Grinnell.
Bond for Minor has been set at $500,000. Robert Ray was appointed as his attorney. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled in June.
Harris said Minor admitted during an interview that he and the two women had been on a three- to four-day “meth high,” and that he struck both women after an argument.

Authorities initially sought both Minor and Grinnell as “persons of interest.”
