Gadsden man pleads guilty to Talladega County Rape

Jimenez Miguel Pedro

Talladega Circuit Judge Bo Hollingsworth accepted guilty pleas from 22 year old  Jimenez Miguel Pedro,  of Gadsden, to rape in the first degree. Pedro was sentenced to 180 months in prison, and a request for probation was denied.
Pedro was indicted for two counts of rape in the first degree stemming from an attack on a 21-year-old woman in the North Campgrounds at the Talladega Super Speedway on May 4, 2014, during the spring race.
The two counts involve the use of forcible compulsion against the victim and the fact that the victim was physically helpless at the time of the attack.
The victim was initially treated at the infield care center at the track. The case was investigated by the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office.
