Local lawmakers accepted campaign contributions from Poarch Creek Indians



Almost three dozen Alabama legislators, including 4 from east central alabama accepted campaign contributions from political action committees funneling money from the Poarch Creek Indians.
Campaign records revealed that 33 lawmakers -- 21 Democrats and 12 Republicans -- accepted contributions during the 2013-14 election cycle.

State Rep. Danny Garrett, R-Trussville, introduced a bill Tuesday that would prohibit campaign donations by gambling interests. None of the bill's 22 co-sponsors were among legislators who accepted campaign funds from Poarch PACs in 2013-14.  Local lawmakers who received contributions include

Rep. Richard Lindsey, D-Centre      $5,000
