Memorial service held for Gadsden firefighter

East Alabama first responders held a memorial service Wednesday afternoon for a Gadsden firefighter killed last week.
Logan Klossner died April 30 when he crashed his motorcycle into a pick up truck whose teenage driver was attempting to cross Highway 431 in south Glencoe.  The 25-year-old former Marine died at the scene.
Alabama State Troopers investigated the wreck with the Glencoe Police Department.  Chief Jonathan Horton said they found no evidence of any driving impairments, and an autopsy ruled the death accidental.
The state medical examiner's report said Based on findings of this examination and presently known circumstances of the death, it was his opinion the cause of death is blunt force injuries.  The manner of death is an accident.
Prosecutors do not plan to file charges against the high school student who caused the crash.  Horton said the driver stopped at the stop sign on Edgar Road, and didn't see anyone coming on on Highway 431.  However, there was another truck on Old Highway 431, which runs parallel.  The teenager saw that vehicle's headlights and thought 431 to be clear, and driver pulled out in front of the single headlight of Klossner's Harley Davidson.
