Barton loses re-election bid for Talladega Mayor

A change in leadership in the City of Talladega.  Incumbent mayor Larry Barton loses the job he's held for four terms to Jerry Cooper Sr.  Barton says he doesn't believe the recent scandal, in which he was allegedly beaten by a man in Vestavia Hills over an alleged sex tape, played a big role in his loss.   The man who will become the next Mayor of Talladega, Jerry Cooper said he is ready to get to work.
