Vincent man sentenced in 2014 murder

Clifton Garynel Roertson

A Vincent man was sentenced to 26 years in prison Tuesday after having previously pleaded guilty to murder, according to Talladega County District Attorney Steve Giddens.
27 year old Clifton Garynel Robertson,  pleaded guilty to the murder of 29 year old Steven Tawan Twymon,  in May. He was formally sentenced by Circuit Judge Bo Hollingsworth.
Twymon was shot to death with a shotgun at a pool hall on Third Street in Childersburg on Mother’s Day 2014. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robertson pleaded guilty just before jury selection was scheduled to begin for his trial.
Though no testimony was taken before the plea was entered, investigators believed that Robertson and Twymon had been involved in a disputing running more than a year, probably involving a woman.
