Gadsden seeks new principal for Gadsden City High School

Gadsden City High School is looking for a new principal.
The Gadsden School board Tuesday approved hiring Keith Blackwell as the director of school operations, leaving his job at the high school open. The position was posted after the meeting.
Superintendent Ed Miller said at a previous meeting that the system had shifted duties during tight financial times rather than filling positions. He said the system needed to have someone to monitor and address needs and issues throughout the system's schools and was able now to put someone in that position.
Blackwell's hiring was one of a number of personnel issues approved after the board met in executive session for more than an hour.
Among other actions, the board hired Taylor Talbot as baseball coach/science teacher at the high school. Talbot has been coach at Cedar Bluff High School.
Charlie Parker was approved as principal at Litchfield Middle School. Parker has been assistant principal at GCHS.
Emma Sansom Middle School principal Craig Hines was approved as director of the system's new STEP Academy.
