Suspect charged in Rainbow City robbery

Rainbow City police say A 29-year-old man was arrested shortly after the report of a robbery Friday at Super Bee pharmacy in the 3300 block of Rainbow Drive.
Christopher John McLeod has been charged with first-degree robbery and is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

According to Rainbow City Police Capt. Chase Jenkins, patrol units responded to a reported robbery at 6:30 p.m. Friday and arrived as the suspect was leaving the back of the business.

He was confronted by officers and taken into custody without incident. He was found with a handgun — determined to be a replica BB gun — cash and a plastic bag full of medications.

The cash and medications were processed, recorded and returned to the business.
