Man found beaten to death in vehicle in Talladega County

The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the apparent beating death of a Talladega man whose body was found in his truck off Nottingham Road Friday evening.According to Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore, the victim has been identified as 66 year old  Doyle Ivey Ingram,  of Talladega. Kilgore said The cause of death “appears to be trauma,”, but the body has been sent to the state forensics lab for autopsy. Kilgore said an area resident was driving down Nottingham Road around 5 p.m. Friday evening when he noticed a red pickup off to the side of the road with the engine running. The man called 911, thinking that there might have been an accident of some kind.Paramedics found Ingram’s body inside the truck when they opened the door to check on him. Deputies and county investigators then responded as well.
