Body found in river identified as missing Guntersville man

Jackie Howell

A body that was recovered April 30 from the Tennessee River at the Guntersville Dam has been identified, according to a news release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences notified the sheriff’s office that the remains are those of 57 year old  Jackie Howell,  of Guntersville.  Howell was reported missing Nov. 25 following a boat trip. His boat was recovered shortly after the filing of a missing person report by the manager of a local marina, after Howell failed to contact the marina as he normally did when on a trip.  At the time the report was filed, Rowell had not been seen or heard from since Nov. 15.  An autopsy is pending.
