Search resumes today for Talladega Drowning victim

Kent Wesley Franklin

St. Clair County authorities say they will resume  the search for a possible drowning victim this morning at Lake Logan Martin in Saint Clair County. Searchers had worked in Vincent since 9:30 Saturday night searching for 50-year-old Kent Wesley Franklin of Talladega.  Rescue teams from all over our area are trying to locate Franklin.  Franklin was boating with friends late Saturday night when he jumped off the boat, and was not seen again.   Saint Clair County Undersheriff Billy Murray said the boaters had also been drinking, so pinpointing exactly where Franklin went under has been challenging.    Boaters were asked to stay away from the search area.  The sheriff's office is using K9's, sonar, and is dragging the area looking for Franklin.  The search was called off early Sunday due to the weather.
