Gadsden man arrested on kidnapping charges

A Gadsden man was arrested Wednesday charged with and assault. According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, James Woods was arrested in connection to an assault against a juvenile.  Officials say Woods held a 16 year-old male victim at gunpoint to force him out of his girlfriend’s car and into his car near the intersection of Pulltight Road and US Highway 411 on Monday.  Woods then drove the victim to his residence on Pulltight Road in the Coates Bend community, where he was assaulted by the suspect.  Woods had accused the victim of breaking into his home.  According to authorities, Woods is charged with one felony count of second degree kidnapping, one count of third degree assault and one count of menacing, both are misdemeanors.  Woods was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and is being held on $51,500.00 bond.
