Alert Neighbor leads to arrest of two men in Etowah County Burglary

Rickey Ray Amous                Zachary Adam McClellan

Two Boaz men have been arrested in connection with a residential burglary on Monday thanks to a quick-thinking neighbor.
32 year old Rickey Ray Amos,  and 26 year old Zachary Adam McClellan,  are each charged with a felony count of third-degree burglary for an alleged break-in at a home on Egypt Road.
According to a release from the sheriffs department, a concerned neighbor snapped a photo of a suspicious truck in the area. A short time later, the neighbor spotted the truck again leaving a nearby home with a television clumsily placed in the back.
The neighbor eventually shared the picture with deputies, who were able to obtain a license plate number for the suspicious vehicle. They then went to a home on Summerville Road in Boaz, where Amson and McClellan were found hiding inside with items stolen in the burglary.
The men were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Etowah county detention center. Amos, who had violated probation stemming from a previous arrest, is being held on a $50,000 bond. McClellan is being held on a $15,000 property bond.
