Shooting at Sylacaga restaurant sends employee to hospital another to jail



Sylacauga Police responded to a shooting at the Hibachi Sushi Buffet on Highway 280 after one employee shot another during an altercation on Sunday.
Chief Chris M. Carden says the altercation was between two male employees in the kitchen area. One of the men was armed with a hand gun and shot the other.
The victim was taken to a Birmingham hospital where he is in critical condition.
Officers arrested the suspect at the scene. He was taken to the Talladega County Jail.
Investigators are not releasing the names of the victim and suspect until they are properly identified and family members have been notified.
Chief Carden says no one else in, at or around the business was involved in the shooting.
