Gadsden council alternating meeting times



In a move that they hop will increase access for the public, the Gadsden City Council will begin Alternating between the morning and evening with their city council meetings.
After last years election, The council voted to change its meeting schedule. It will meet at the traditional time — 11 a.m., with a 10 a.m. work session — on the first, third and fifth Tuesdays of each month, but will meet at 5 p.m. (with a 4 p.m. work session) on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
The first evening meeting will be this week.
The Jan. 20 meeting will be at 11 a.m. and the Jan. 27 meeting will be at 5 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, following work sessions in the fourth-floor conference room.
To address the council, an individual must contact the city clerk’s office at 256-549-4516 by noon Friday for the following Tuesday’s meeting and provide the topic he or she wants to discuss.
