Gadsden woman charged with chemical endangerment of twins, one stillborn the other hospitalized

A 26 year old Gadsden woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment of twins, according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Courtney Starr Hyfield-Parker, is charged with two felony counts of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed.
Parker tested positive for opiates. One infant was stillborn, the other was transported to a Birmingham hospital.
Her Bond is set at $30,000; $15,000 for each count. Parker will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections and must give a negative drug test before being released from the Etowah County Detention Center. She also is restricted from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 18, per a judge’s order.
The case also is being investigated by the Etowah County Department of Human Resources.
