Calhoun 911 board reinstates Jenkins

Kevin Jenkins

Calhoun County 911 director Kevin Jenkins will return to work today after being placed on administrative leave.
Jenkins was arrested at the Atlanta Airport on June 28 after police say the TSA found a loaded gun in his bag at a security checkpoint.
Police also say he was also carrying a weapons permit that expired two years ago. The Calhoun County 911 District Board of Commissioners placed  him on administrative leave after his arrest.
They met in a closed executive session Tuesday night and voted to re-instate him. One board member did say publicly no intent was found on Jenkins part.
Board Chairman Mike Fincher says,  "After a lengthy investigation by the 911 Board, Mr. Jenkins will be re-instated on July 8th. That is the end of our statement."
