Memorial service set for Jimmie Harp

Jimmie Harp

Gov. Robert Bentley will have the task to appoint someone as Etowah County District Attorney.
The local Republican Party is in no rush to begin the process, according to James Clay, chairman of the Etowah County Republican Party Executive Committee.
Clay said right now, it's time for family and friends to mourn and remember Jimmie Harp.  Clay said in the coming days, the executive committee will meet to discuss making a recommendation to the governor for someone to fill the position. He said anyone interested in the committee's consideration can contact him at jclay4aub@aol.com for more information or to send a resume. Harp died Wednesday afternoon after a long battle with cancer, and more than 10 years of service as the county’s top prosecutor.  A memorial service is set for Saturday at 2 pm at the Southside Baptist Church. The counties judicial building is closed today in honor of Harp.
