
A Gadsden woman has been arrested for chemical endangerment
of a child, according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
29 year old Dorothy Rebekah Stancil, of Gadsden, was
arrested and charged with a felony charge of chemical endangerment of exposing
a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced
or distributed.
Stancil admitted to using heroin and marijuana while
pregnant. She was initially arrested for two drug court violations.
She is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center
on $10,000 bond. Upon release, Stancil will be supervised by Etowah County
Community Corrections and must successfully complete a treatment program.
