A Gadsden man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of reckless murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
33 year old Terry Evon Nixon Jr.,  pleaded guilty in the deaths of a mother and daughter.
The victims 55 year old Beverly Oglesbey,  and 21 year old  Kayla Joe Oglesbey, both of Rainbow City, were killed, , after Nixon rammed his vehicle into the back of their vehicle along U.S. Interstate 59. The wreck happened near the 169 mile marker on Jan. 31, 2014.
At the time of the wreck authorities say Nixon was driving recklessly on I-59 South. Witnesses said Nixon was speeding with his headlights off. The state troopers investigation determined he was driving around 95 mph. Nixon was also under the influence of methamphetamine and alcohol.
At the time of the wreck, Nixon’s driver’s license was revoked because of two previous DUI convictions.
When the vehicle Nixon was driving hit the back of the victims’ vehicle, they skidded into the Double Bridge Road overpass bridge column near Steele in St. Clair County.  Both mother and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.
