Gadsden police arrest robbery suspect

Gadsden police apprehended a robbery suspect after a midday purse-snatching in the parking lot of a Rainbow Drive restaurant.  Police say A elderly female was leaving the restaurant between 11:30 a.m. and noon Monday when a young man approached her with a gun and took her purse.  officers “saturated” the area and, after a brief foot chase, apprehended a suspect.  Police  were able to recover the gun, and the stolen items . A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody and is being held pending charges.
