Gospel Music Association Dove Award nominee and Christian
country artist Gordon Mote is coming back to his hometown of Gadsden. Mote has been nominated for country song of
the year with “Ain’t It Just Like The Lord.
The Dove Awards will be presented Tuesday in Nashville .
Mote will be in Gadsden from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 17 at
the Gadsden City High School Auditorium for a performance with the Gadsden
Symphony Orchestra.
Mote said his fan base reaches a broad base. “It’s a really
great cross-section,” he said. “It’s not just the older people who follow the
Gaithers.”
Mote plays piano for the Gaither Homecoming concerts.
For the concert with the symphony orchestra, he’ll be
focusing on his new release, “Hymns and Songs of Inspiration,” which takes its
title from a local radio show.
Mote said “WGAD featured ‘Songs of Inspiration’ for over 50
years, and It’s been a mainstay of Gadsden Sunday morning radio.”
The album features older, traditional hymns, along with a new
song, “Only Jesus Can Heal This Hurting World.”
