Prosecutors say a man has been charged with sexual abuse of
a 4-year-old child after an investigation that began nearly a year ago. The Marshall County District Attorney's
Office says 30-year-old Adam Wayne Sparks has been charged with sexual abuse of
a child less than 12 and torture-willful abuse of a child. Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Bray
says police were called when two children were spotted playing in a roadway
naked and unsupervised in an Albertville neighborhood in December. The children
were interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center after police did a welfare
check during the investigation. Bray says the 4-year-old child disclosed
information that led to Sparks' arrest. Sparks is being held at the Marshall
County jail.
