Gadsden police say credit card theif strikes again

Gadsden Police are continuing to search for a man who has twice broken into vehicles at the Cracker Barrel on Alabama Highway 77 and taken credit and debit cards to go on a shopping spree.  Detectives said the man usually parks at the Hardee’s across the street before walking over to a vehicle, breaking out the windows and taking the cards. The man then heads to Walmart and helps himself to a shopping spree of electronics.  The first time, he broke into an elderly couple’s car on Dec. 18, and the woman’s credit card was stolen from her purse. The man struck again Saturday, this time breaking into a vehicle about 8:45 a.m. The man bought $543 of electronics at the Attalla Walmart and also stopped to buy $50 worth of merchandise from the Jet Pep on East Fifth Avenue in Attalla. Security footage captured images of the man both times, but the clearest images came from Saturday’s incident. Police say they are sure the same man was involved in both incidents.

Anyone with any information can call Thompson at 256-549-4645 or the Gadsden Police Department at 256-549-4500.
