Deputies say a 31 year old Anniston woman who was released
from the Calhoun County Jail on Friday has been accused of abusing her
boyfriends 5 year old son in December.
Jessica Joy Baxter, has been charged with felony child abuse. According to investigators, the abuse took
place in a home on Gallatin Drive, where Baxter had been living with her
boyfriend and five children. A Department
of Human Resources worker and the victim’s father reported the abuse to deputies
in January. Baxter is accused of punching, choking and spanking her boyfriend’s
5-year-old son with a belt in December.
Baxter turned herself in at the Calhoun County Jail on
Friday and was released on a $15,000 bond .
