The Lincoln Police Department said the death of a Calhoun
County woman who disappeared in October has been ruled a homicide.
Theresa Andrews Benn disappeared on October 19. Her body was
found on November 22 in the Jackson Shoals area of Choccolocco Creek.
Investigators said the final DNA tests are still pending but
they are "confident" the body is that of Benn.
The initial death report suggests Benn died by homicide,
according to police. However, they declined to release further details as their
investigation continues into the actual cause of death.
While they continue their work, they encourage anyone with
information to call 205-763-4070 and speak with Investigator Amanda Crow.
