The Gadsden City Council on Tuesday appointed Frank N. Cylar
to the city’s Board of Education.
Cylar, who is retired from United Parcel Service, was
nominated by District 1 Councilwoman Cynthia Toles. He succeeds Joe Ransaw, who had served on the board since
2004. His five-year term will expire June 1, 2019.
Cylar served on the Gadsden Water Works and Sewer Board from
2005 to 2013, and Toles said he was active in the schools when he had children
in the system.
