Former Talladega County Judge appointed to State Ethics Board

Jerry Fielding

Former Talladega County Circuit Judge Jerry Fielding has been appointed to the Alabama Ethics Commission.
Fielding was unanimously confirmed to the position by the state Senate, a body in which he served one term. He replaces Anthony Humphries of Anniston, whose term ended Aug. 31. Humphries continued to serve until he was replaced, however. Fielding was nominated as Humphries' replacement by House Speaker Mike Hubbard.
Fielding began his career in public service as a district court judge, then as a circuit judge. After 26 years, he retired from the bench, then served on the Talladega County Board of Education before being elected to the state Senate.
Fielding will make his first official appearance as a commissioner during the board’s April 1 meeting, according to the release.
