A two-vehicle accident Tuesday claimed the life of an
Ashville man.
St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell identified the
victim as 25 year old David Kyle Hanson.
Russell said Hanson was killed when the Ford Mustang he was
driving collided with a large commercial truck on U.S. 231 in Ashville. The
driver of the truck was transported to a Birmingham hospital with injuries,
Russell said.
Ashville police Chief Dennis Matthews said the accident
happened at 1:29 p.m. on U.S. 231, just south of the Alabama Power Office in
Ashville. The victim was traveling south, and the truck driver was traveling
north on U.S. 231.
Matthews said the accident is still under investigation.
