Police seeking publics help in two Sylacauga Homocides

Two murders in a week have the town of Sylacauga on edge. The Sylacauga Police Chief is asking the community for help in solving two homicides.
Police Chief Chris Carden says their town has a responsibility to find the person or people behind these two murders. Chief Carden says he believes the two crimes are related.
18-year-old Kieria Reynolds died late Saturday night. Police say they found her laying on Church Avenue with a gunshot wound. Investigators say the suspects forced their way into her apartment, shot Reynolds and assaulted another person.
Police were given a description of the suspects. They are described as two black men, about 5’7″ and 5’11”, both wearing black hoodies. One of the men was wearing a white mask. They came into the apartment through the back door. Police say it appears they were trying to rob the house.
On April 5th, 39-year-old Gerry Louis Wallace was shot at his home on Main Avenue. Wallace was taken to University Hospital in Birmingham, where he later died. The two murders are just blocks apart.
Chief Carden says the community needs to help officers out in gathering information.
Cheif Carden is hoping that someone will come forward with information that can help investigators. He’s holding a meeting with the community this evening at St. Thomas Church on Milton and Main. It starts at 6:00 p.m.
